IMDb’s STARmeter Awards winners have been released, and among them is The Witcher’s very own Anya Chalotra. Chalotra, who plays Yennefer of Vengerberg, won the Breakout award by being #1 in the Top 10 Breakout Stars of 2020, after spending four consecutive weeks in the #1 spot for IMDb’s STARmeter chart, and then another 4 weeks after that within the Top 10.
Chalotra has also gained a prestigious #3 spot in the overall ranking of IMDB’s Top 10 Stars of 2020, where fellow Witcher actor Henry Cavill rounds off the list as #10. And they’re not the only ones, Freya Allan also snagged a spot as #9 in the Top 10 Breakout Stars of 2020. In an acceptance video shot from home, Chalotra notes how honored she is to accept the award:
“It is hugely exciting to be named IMDb’s Breakout Star of 2020, to follow in the footsteps of so many brilliant actors, it’s an honor. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has taken an interest and supported my work this year, via IMDb, I feel incredibly lucky to also receive the IMDb STARmeter Award — my very first award ever — from IMDb and IMDbPro.”
