The turmoil and churn of television production never ends, not even in a possible post Covid-19 era! While many of us are excited that the pandemic looks to be on the outs, the troubles and tribulations of producing a world wide hits prequel isn't ammune to the comings and goings of the traditional Hollywood process. We previously reported that Jodie Turner-Smith was cast in The Witcher: Blood Origins, playing the role of Éile, "an elite warrior blessed with the voice of a goddess, who has left her clan and position as Queen’s guardian to follow her heart as a nomadic musician."
Tonight, Deadline.com is reporting that a scheduling conflct has removed the actress from the part. Because production needed to shift their start date slightly, a previous commitment from Jodie has forced her to depart. The role remains uncast at this point. The Witcher: Blood Orgins Synopsis reads:
Set in an elven world 1,200 years before the world of The Witcher, Blood Origin will tell a story lost to time – the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that lead to the pivotal “conjunction of the spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.
